Review: 1900 Park Fare - Happily Ever After Dinner

This was not our first time visiting 1900 Park Fare for the Happily Ever After dinner.  Well, at least my daughter and I's, as we dined here during our girls only trip back in September 2013.

1900 Park Fare is located at the stunning Grand Floridian Resort off the monorail at Magic Kingdom. I love walking around this hotel, it is just beautiful and majestic.

Once you check in, you will get your photo taken just outside the restaurant against a lovely backdrop.

This past trip we opted to do the Memory Maker, which is hard to justify when you are a photographer.  But I really wanted some of the character photos they include for our photo albums and the ride photos.  This is the "lovely" photo we had snapped before we had dinner.

Once you are called back to be seated, you get settled at a table with a waiter that will tend to drinks and clearing of the table.  This dinner is buffet style.  There were many delicious options available.

The Heirloom Tomato salad was good, but lacked salt.  However, the caesar salad was delicious. My daughter loved the mac n cheese at the kids station.  I enjoyed the chicken marsala. My husband got his feast on with the various seafood options.

Cinderella, Prince Charming, Lady Tremaine, and the Step Sisters all made rounds at each table. Since it is really hard to find all of these characters (minus Cinderella) in the parks for meet & greets, this character dining is a great way to get to see them.  We even asked Cinderella about her mice friends, which gave us great interaction. And the Step-Sisters are really funny!

These are all photos that I took with my Canon 6D

We opted to do this dining on our off day from the parks.  This way we could have a relaxed day, not have to rush around, and just get to enjoy the evening.  Since we got to the hotel early, we were able to participate in the marshmallow roast down by their beach.  These are nice, quiet, fun experiences that several of the hotels offer and I highly recommend you check them out as they are not typically crowded.  At least they weren't for us.  We did one at our hotel (Port Orleans French Quarter) as well.

What I Love

What I love most about a trip to Disneyworld is that each person/family can truly customize their trip to fit their personal needs/tastes.  There are endless ways to do Disney.  And you can go numerous times and never have the same experience, and always see something new.

We have gone four times and there are still things we haven’t done or experienced.  And that is part of the magic.

Some people prefer to do really long trips and stay off property, some prefer to do really short trips and use the Vacation club.

Some people use the dining plans and others bring food into the park and do not buy food while they are there.

I love planning trips, even if they are not for myself. Its just one way to keep the magic alive and see how others do Disney.

Welcome!

I only went to Disneyland once as a child at the age of 3.  I never had the opportunity to go as a kid outside of that.  Now that I have my own children, and we finally went to Disneyland and Disneyworld, I am totally obsessed.

I have always enjoyed amusement parks.  I am not a camping, boating, roughing it kind of girl.  I want a nice hotel room, someone to deal with meals, and just to relax and have fun.  As long as the amusement park is not overly crowded, then I am good to go!  I like being in that atmosphere that encourages fun and adventure, where you are moving around and seeing something different as you go.  I struggle with sitting at a pool or beach, just sitting there looking at a never changing environment.

We use to visit Disneyland a few times a year when we were stationed nearby at Camp Pendleton, yep we are a military family.

Now, we are preparing for trip number 5 to Disneyworld in just one week.  And each trip we have done something different, learned some new tips, and had just a little bit better trip.

Our first trip was March 2011, in celebration of my husband’s R&R during the middle of his deployment.  This trip was in celebration of him meeting our son for the first time, and our first time to Disneyworld.  This trip was a splurge, we stayed at the Animal Kingdom Lodge and didn’t get the dining plan.  Our son was 3 months old, and our daughter was 3.5 years old.  We were truly newbies!

Our second trip was September 2012, for a girls only trip.  It was myself, my daughter, my best friend and her daughter.  The girls were about 4 years old (and that feels like forever ago!). We stayed at Pop Century, and had the Deluxe dining plan.  And boy was that a LOT of food. This started my love for the dining plan.

Our third trip was for the family in April 2013.  We opted to stay at the Caribbean Beach resort so the kids could have the pirate themed room.  It was a LOT of fun, but man that hotel is HUGE. Again, we had the Deluxe dining plan and felt the trip was too focused on eating and using up the meal credits.

The last trip was August 2014, where we stayed at All Star Sports with just the regular dining plan.  This was our first time driving to Disneyworld, and we got to do a lot more then we usually did.

And the trip coming up…. I am excited to see how this one goes.  This time we are celebrating my husband’s promotion and giving the kids a little buffer and fun due to our relocating from virginia to north carolina, which neither of them are happy about doing.
